Anti-Discrimination

 Introductory Workshops

The district anti-discrimination Facilitation team (Toni Widders and Roberta Ayres) are available to assist your school to deal with issues of unlawful discrimination including racism, sexism, harassment, the role of the Anti-Discrimination Officer and the Anti-Discrimination Board, etc. The team can tailor workshops to your particular needs.).

Project Funds

We have a limited amount of funding to support anti-discrimination projects in schools. We can provide relief for staff in your school to plan implement and review an anti-discrimination project, which you devise. If you’ve got an idea we might be able to fund it.

Anti-Discrimination Officer Training

We will be offering Anti-Discrimination Officer Training (not to be confused with Anti-Racism Contact Officer Training) for schools that require someone with the training to be the designated contact person to deal with complaints of discrimination. If you have an urgent need in this area, contact Roberta Ayres at District Office.

Procedures for Resolving Complaints About Discrimination Against Students (DSE, 1995).

This is our Department’s publication. It is a purple covered plastic folder with Flannel Flowers as decorations. Available in every school! It is an excellent document, which outlines school responsibilities and includes professional development activities (some of which are easily translated into teaching and learning programs for students).
